WILLMAR — Patrick O’Rourke rose to the top of the executive director candidate list for Kandiyohi County Economic Development and will be offered the position.
Four members of the Joint Powers Board for Kandiyohi County Economic Development, in a secret ballot, voted for O’Rourke as their top candidate; two members voted for him as the second candidate.
The Kandiyohi County and City of Willmar Economic Development Commission, the economic development authority established in 2003 by special legislation, began doing business earlier this year as Kandiyohi County Economic Development.
Joint Powers Board Chair and Kandiyohi County Commissioner Steve Gardner and Vice Chair and Willmar City Councilor Vicki Davis will serve as the negotiating committee to negotiate terms of employment with O'Rourke.
