We are pleased to announce the 2026 Joint Powers Board for Kandiyohi County Economic Development. This Board collaborates with partners to advance economic development efforts throughout Kandiyohi County. The Joint Powers Board will focus on strategic coordination, business support, and long-term economic growth to strengthen the county’s communities and regional competitiveness. This board is comprised of three County Commissioners and three Willmar City Council members.

Congratulations to Nova-Tech Engineering The Kandiyohi County Economic Development Office is proud to recognize Nova Tech Engineering as a recipient of the 2025 Governor’s International Trade Award in the Medium-Sized Company category. Presented by Governor Tim Walz, this prestigious award honors Minnesota companies that demonstrate excellence and leadership in international trade. Nova Tech Engineering’s global reach, innovation, and continued growth highlight the strength of Kandiyohi County’s business community and its impact beyond our borders. Kandiyohi County Economic Development Interim Executive Director, Marv Calvin, shared his pride in supporting the nomination, stating: “This award not only reflects the impact and innovation of Nova Tech Engineering, but also the strength and progress of the manufacturing community in Willmar, Minnesota.” The award was formally presented at the Governor’s International Trade Awards luncheon on January 30, 2026.
