WILLMAR — The Kandiyohi County and City of Willmar Economic Development Commission has found a new home, which is currently being renovated to suit its needs.
Earlier this spring, both the EDC Joint Operations and Joint Powers boards approved moving forward with a 10-year lease agreement with Willmar Ten Investors to move the EDC office into the Appletree Square complex, located on the northwest corner of Highway 12 East and Lakeland Drive.
Renovations to the space are currently underway and are expected to be completed by Sept. 15. The EDC’s current lease with the Elks Lodge expires in November.
The new space will be 2,840 square feet, which includes four offices with a reception area. The office space for the child care coordinator will also include a "mini incubator" space for graduates of the Elevate Community Business Academy to lease to get their new business up and running.
