Located in the nation’s breadbasket, Kandiyohi County has a strong history in agriculture. That history is paving the way for a whole new generation of Ag Technology and many global leaders in the industry call Kandiyohi County home.

The world’s largest turkey breeding and hatching company, Select Genetics, and the world’s largest turkey processor, Jennie-O Turkey Store, are both located in Kandiyohi County.

Epitopix, specializing in groundbreaking vaccination technology, now a Vaxxinova company, began as part of Willmar Poultry Company and is a leader in improving animal health and human food safety.

Prinsco is an industry leader in agricultural water management and an advocate for farmers’ and landowners’ rights. A third-generation, family-owned company, Prinsco has a long history in the area and has been able to adapt and stay cutting-edge thanks to the culture of innovation in Kandiyohi County.

The MinnWest Technology Campus plays a large role in the county’s culture of innovation. In 2006, the 100-acre campus was purchased from the state of Minnesota by a family of private technology and bioscience companies in Willmar. The mission of MinnWest is to promote the advancement, nurture the environment and accommodate the functions of a thriving biosciences and technology community in the greater Willmar lakes area. Twenty-six companies, including Life-Science Innovations, Nova-Tech Engineering, LLC, Prinsco, University of Minnesota Extension, Vaxxinova, and other global industry leaders are located in the refurbished historic buildings on the MinnWest Technology Campus.
