The 2019 Strategic Planning Session for the Kandiyohi County and City of Willmar Economic Development Commission (EDC) took place this past March. EDC Marketing and Public Relations Committee Vice Chair, Melissa Knott, shares her experience with us as a first-time attendee:
“On March 14th, I had the pleasure of attending the 2019 Strategic Planning Session for the EDC where the separate committees came together to establish and discuss the primary focus areas for 2019. It was an eye-opening experience with fantastic community and industry representation that allowed for discussion surrounding Kandiyohi County and the ways the EDC can address challenges and opportunities for both residents and employers.
As someone who lives, works and plays in Willmar, I found this strategic planning session to be both enlightening and educational. I felt like what we were doing had great purpose and I was excited to be a part of it. What I learned is that the potential for economic growth is truly limitless because many of the selected initiatives have a ripple effect… they build momentum. Like tossing a pebble and making a wave. I was proud to be a part of such a progressive, thought-provoking conversation and appreciated the invitation to attend. ” – Melissa Knott
Thank you to Melissa and the rest of the attendees of the Strategic Planning Session for their participation and attendance. The input received from this session provides valuable feedback and direction for the 2019 EDC initiatives.
