After much anticipation, the new Subway built on First Street South could be open by Friday in Willmar; Papa Murphy’s recently opened in its new location. WILLMAR — If all goes well, the new Subway on First Street South will be open on Friday. The new Subway at 605 First St. S. has been under construction for months, and it seemed like nothing was taking place for some of that time. However, the parking lot was paved this week, and new signage was installed as well.

New Subway restaurant to replace 1st Street location
WILLMAR—Sandwich lovers will soon have a new place to get their favorite Subway subs. Construction has begun on the new Willmar restaurant, located at the intersection of First Street South and Minnesota Avenue Southeast, across from Domino’s Pizza. The building will be 2,200 square feet and will include a drive-thru on the east side of the structure. There will also be plenty of parking, with the city-required maximum of 37 spaces.
