WILLMAR — The Kandiyohi County and City of Willmar Economic Development Commission received a grant of more than $200,000 to put toward expansion of the Elevate Community
St. Paul – The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) announced today grant awards of nearly $4.1 million to 11 Minnesota cities. These grants play a significant role in the cleanup of contaminated sites for redevelopment.
This includes the Block 25 site in Willmar, Minnesota.

WILLMAR—The city of Willmar received the largest Small Cities grant awarded in the state in 2018.
Awarded by the state Department of Employment and Economic Development, using funds from the federal Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block grant, the $1,205,177 grant will be used for housing and commercial rehabilitation in a targeted area and a rehab project at Hanson Apartments on Lakeland Drive Southeast.
The money can be used only for projects within the program’s parameters
WILLMAR—Homes located on the northside of downtown Willmar and businesses within the downtown business district will soon be able to apply for no-interest, deferred loans for eligible rehabilitation projects.
