As a regional medical center, Kandiyohi County has state-of-the-art facilities and hundreds of medical providers who provide outstanding care.

Carris Health/Rice Memorial Hospital is a Level 3 Trauma Center and is the largest community-owned hospital in Minnesota. Rice serves 14 counties, has 100 inpatient beds and employs more than 900 staff. It is home to the Willmar Regional Cancer Center, Suite Beginnings private birth suites and Carris Health Center and Therapy Suites, a short-stay rehabilitation facility.  Funding for many of the hospital’s programs has been provided by the Rice Health Foundation, the hospital’s philanthropic organization. The Foundation raises millions of dollars for cutting-edge healthcare.

Kandiyohi County has hundreds of medical providers at dozens of clinics. Carris Health/ACMC Health is a multi-specialty clinic with more than 40 specialty departments and offices in 11 area communities. Family Practice Medical Center in Willmar is a multi-physician clinic that provides a variety of services for the whole family. Numerous independent clinics ranging from allergy and asthma to ear, nose and throat, to holistic medicine also call Kandiyohi County home. The Fischer Laser Eye Center provides comprehensive family eye care, including LASEK eye correction and laser cataract surgery. Dozens of dental clinics in the area provide family care, as well as orthodontic treatment and surgical dental procedures.

Dr. Abraham Heschel once said, “The test of a people is how it behaves toward the old.” Kandiyohi County passes that test with flying colors with huge investments in facilities for the aging population. Carris Health Care Center and Therapy Suites recently  completed an $11 million renovation of its long- and short-term stay facilities. Bethesda, a facility that provides a full range of living options from assisted living through full-time nursing care, recently completed a $21 million building project building and is now undergoing a $3.3 million construction of a new Town Center and Chapel renovation project to be completed in June 2018.
